Cleaveland Price has released its LineScope® Line Sensor for application on distribution and transmission power lines. It is available from 4kV through 115kV, measures voltages and currents with 0.5% accuracy, produces power quality calculations, and captures over-current events. Unlike similar sensors, the LineScope® is a battery-free device powered from line voltage, which allows operation without a line current requirement. The device is comprised of two pieces – a sensing head that connects directly to the power line and a wireless receiver at ground level. The sensor data is available at the wireless receiver via DNP protocol for easy integration in to existing SCADA and smart grid systems.
Cleaveland/Price celebrated over 20 years of participation at DistribuTECH this year. This year the convention was held in sunny San Diego, CA. The booth team for 2017 consisted of Rae Sweeney, Pete Kowalik, Vince Cleaveland, Joe Andreyo, Ed Wallace, Hershel Roberson, Chad Bond, Al Bortak, Dan Driggers, Roy Onofrey, Justin Reinhart, Angelo Rometo, Joe Szwelnis, and Trish Conboy. The booth would not have been erected if it were not for the endless dedication and talents of Tim Kotch and Addison Whetzel.
Our new LineScope™ was the center of attention amongst our other products like the ReliaVac™ Vacuum Interrupter, Reliatronics RTUs, Center Break Switch, Grounding Mat, Padmount Switch, and Motor Operators, just to name a few. We had a record amount of people visit our booth this year, and we were recognized by WindStax for our automation gear.
DistribuTECH was a great success this year, and we are already planning for next year’s event.
Cleaveland/Price Inc. was acknowledged by the Commissioners of Westmoreland County on National Manufacturing Day 2016. Trafford, PA – May 24, 2016 – Cleaveland/Price announces that they have come to an agreement for acquisition of Reliatronics Inc., of Johnson City, TX. Reliatronics is a designer and manufacturer of remote terminal units (RTU) used primarily in the electric utility industry. Reliatronics RTU’s are noted for their small footprint and low power consumption and have been integrated into many Cleaveland/Price switch controllers.
Rae Sweeney, Cleaveland/Price president stated, “We are excited about the opportunities that will open up as a result of bringing Reliatronics into our company. We have number of products that we will be able to pursue given the expertise that Reliatronics will contribute.” Added Pete Kowalik, Cleaveland/Price vice-president and engineering manager, “Cleaveland/Price has worked closely with Reliatronics over the last 20+ years jointly supplying equipment to many utility customers. This closeness and common market led to the combining of efforts to design and manufacture a high voltage power line sensor (LineScope). The synergistic joining of the two companies creates a design and production team with greater capability to respond to new Smart Grid market needs.”
Hershel Roberson, president of Reliatronics, will continue with Cleaveland/Price in a product development role. Regarding the acquisition, Mr. Roberson observed, ” Reliatronics and Cleaveland/Price have probably done a hundred projects together and they have been great to work with. I have always been impressed by Cleaveland/Price’s engineering expertise, and with the family oriented culture of the company. I know that the products we have developed will be in good hands.”
Cleaveland/Price will be fully absorbing Reliatronics into its organization, however, will be maintaining the Reliatronics brand name for the RTUs.
